Cleartide delivers first of its kind container infrastructure as intermediary business solution for public admission lagoon operation prior to permanent facility construction.
April 2021, Texas City, Texas
Debuting summer 2021 at Lagoonfest Texas, Cleartide brings first ever lagoon-side container infrastructure to the beach lifestyle market, unique to Houston and lagoon projects across the country. The custom build will furnish containers fully equipped to provide food and bar service, admissions and front gate operations, retail, administrative areas, restrooms and entertainment facilities including a stage and rooftop party decks.
Lagoonfest Texas, the second-annual summer festival, is a destination attraction located on Lago Mar’s 12-acre lagoon at the site of its future public admission beach club expected to begin construction in late 2022. Hired by lagoon owner and real estate developer Land Tejas, Cleartide opened the lagoon to the public for the first-time last summer as the first ever proof of concept public admission lagoon attraction in the U.S.
“As the event was a tremendous success last season, delivering a bigger and better experience was absolutely necessary,” says John Hughes, President of Cleartide. “The new facility was designed to enhance the overall guest experience and improve onsite operations. It allows a unique opportunity for the public to continue enjoying the lagoon attraction as we prepare for the next stage of development.”
The container concept is a semi-permanent solution for Lago Mar’s temporary structural needs, serving as the intermediary step prior to construction while raising capital for the permanent beach club facilities. This cost effective and environmentally friendly solution allows for temporary lagoon operations at a greatly reduced cost during the intermediary phase. Cleartide worked hand in hand with Land Tejas to coordinate site improvements that would not only support the container infrastructure for Lagoonfest Texas, but lay the framework for the next stage of development at Lago Mar.
To complete the project, Cleartide collaborated with Michigan based Britten, Inc., a company specializing in custom container design and fabrication for hospitality, retail, and special event projects. Lagoonfest Texas will open doors on Friday, May 28th for the summer 2021 season.
